Chicken City & Farm Sanctuary

Chicksburgh is a 100x70 fully enclosed "city" and is home to numerous chickens, call ducks & a couple of turkeys. We are located an hour north of Pittsburgh, Pa. Every section of Chicksburgh & every building inside are based on things you will find in "Da Burgh".

Many of the residents are here as rescues, giving them a place to live out their lives being cared for and loved as pets. Many were dumped, abused, disabled or unwanted. We have well over 100 residents in Chicksburgh. We hope this place can help spread happiness and be the

reason someone smiles today.

We  are self funded. Donations are always appreciated!

Chicksburgh is dedicated to my dad, "Poppy". Poppy loved animals, especially his chickens, geese & ducks. He had a special bond with his support animal- Gertrude, a crested pekin duck. He took her shopping, told her stories, and even played songs on his organ for her. She never left his side for almost 6 years.

Poppy loved to share his animals and their stories with anyone he could. He knew it made people happy. His kind heart & gentle soul not only brought joy to his family and friends, but also brought him international internet fame late in life. 

Poppy passed away before he was able to complete his dream- a fully enclosed chicken sanctuary city. My family has continued to finish it in his honor. Gertrude lives with me now and continues to spread happiness by visiting assisted living centers, shut ins, schools, etc.
